On Saturday 22nd April, one of the biggest events on the annual music calendar is taking place - Record Store Day. Explore our Record Store Day collection, a carefully curated selection of artworks that celebrate the art of vinyl and music through album photography, collages, photorealist paintings, sculpture, and more.
The first Record Store Day took place in 2007, celebrating the culture and role of independent record stores and all those who collect and find joy in vinyl. Record Store Day sees the release of exclusive, collectible, and often-limited edition new records. Record stores across the UK host sales, artist performances, and events. Our Record Store Day collection is perfectly suited to vinyl lovers. We have C-Type photography prints of records by Heidler and Heeps and a mesmerising photorealist giclée prints from Ian Robinson of records, and a record player, up close and personal. Looking for a less literal depiction of your music passions? Perhaps a text print with the lyrics of your favourite track is more your thing. Look no further than the pulp collages of Linda Charles and Mike Edwards' typographic ‘word portraits’ – you are sure to be singing along in no time. Vinyl is having a resurgence– and rightly so. What better way to champion the art of vinyl, than with art?
