All my images are sourced vintage printed material from 1890 to 1970. I continually scavenge for materials to use, I can't walk past a second hand shop, charity shop or boot market without having to go in.

Meet the Sheridan Powers, the Hollywood couple everyone is dying to know! With their fast cars, pampered pooches, and dazzling diamonds, the pair pack a flamboyant punch in classic Rivans panache. But this is more than just a story of boy meets girl; it’s a tale of masculine meets feminine, subverting the norm and celebrating gender in all its gorgeous fluidity. On the left, starlet Ann Sheridan holds the keys and the power, symbolised in speedy motorbikes, adventurous cowboys, and the White House itself. Over on the right, the handsome Tyrone Power is in touch with his feminine side, as pink flowers and diamond wrist-watches adorn his luscious headdress.

Maria Rivans is a contemporary artist, best known for her bright and eclectic collages. Maria Rivans’ art combines vintage ephemera and vivid, often humorous, imagery. Rivans studied 3D design at the University of Brighton, the city she lives and works in today and adores. She has a wide range of influences, including the Dada movement, David Hockney, Hieronymus Bosch, Jeff Koons, Frida Kahlo, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Hamilton, and The Brit Art Movement. She also draws inspiration from outside of visual art, looking to music, film, and fashion in defining her aesthetic. Rivans’ vintage imagery is sourced from second-hand shops, car boot sales, and charity shops. Rivans’ collection of images, which numbers in the thousands, were printed between 1890 and 1970. By collaging and intertwining different film and TV genres, Rivans creates tales and shows how the fragmented and complex world we inhabit can be pieced back together. Rivans has exhibited in both solo and group shows across the UK and Europe, as well as Hong Kong, Korea, and New York. In 2015, her artwork 'Carina' was the face of Scoop International Fashion Show at the Saatchi Gallery, and 'Scarlett' headed Nordea Private Banking's campaign at Stockholm Affordable Art Fair. Rivans' artwork has been featured in The Times newspaper and in 2018 one of her artworks was selected for the Royal Academy’s 250th Summer Exhibition.
We love the precision that Maria applies to the process of collating and assembling her compositions. She dedicates a large amount of time to locating the perfect imagery for each surreal artwork. Down to the smallest detail, each element of her collages are used to forge a unique identity for the figures in each piece. We particularly love how every one of Maria's collage portraits tell a unique story and create a unique narratives that bring each of Maria's characters to life.

What is Archival Giclée
Giclée (/ʒiːˈkleɪ/ zhee-KLAY) is a neologism, ultimately derived from the French word gicleur, coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made using inkjet printers. The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on a modified Iris printer in a process invented in the late 1980s. It has since been used widely to mean any fine-art printing, usually archival, printed by inkjet. It is often used by artists, galleries, and print shops for their high quality printing, but is also used generically for art printing of any quality.
How long will it take for my artwork to arrive?
We aim to dispatch unframed artworks within 10 working days of receiving your order. Postage within the UK takes around 1-3 working days. Custom framed items are usually dispatched within 21 working days of receiving your order. For more information, see our delivery page.
What is your returns policy?
Once you receive your artwork, you have 30 days to return it and get a full refund if you're not happy. If you would like to return an artwork, please contact us first at support@artrepublic.com. It is your responsibility to cover the return postage. Our returns' policy excludes items that are hand-made to order, such as artwork that has been framed, purchased as part of a timed release, or commissioned. These can only be returned if they are faulty.
