Bernard Cheese was an artist who found inspiration in landscape and the patterns imposed by man on Nature. Bernard Cheese was born in Sydenham in 1925 and passed away aged 88 in 2013. Following four years in the army, Cheese attended at the Royal College of Art, studying under Edward Bawden, John Nash and Edwin Le Dell. He then went on to teach print making at St Martin’s School of Art, then a Senior Lecturer at Goldsmith’s College, London and also taught part-time at Central School of Arts and crafts. His work has appeared in many successful shows and his beautiful works of art as well as being incredibly appealing on the eye, tell a story; creating a commuting going about their daily business, and a world and livelihood unravels before your eyes.
