Breon O' Casey was born in 1928 - and after his National Service, he was able to attend art school, having spent time at the Anglo-French Art Centre A small hard-up school in St John’s Wood, with close links to the French school of painting. At Art School he spent a great deal of time visiting galleries - and then spent the following 10 years in the wilderness. Breon felt this was a key factor to his development as an artist - as he encountered feelings of depression, doubt and lethargy, which made him the artist he is today.
