  • Step 2 Choose Mount

Shadow Floating is a method used to beautifully mount artwork onto a foam core using Artcare™ Restore™, a fully archival and reversible mount. The result is the artwork appearing to float securely upon a backing mount board - creating a wonderful shadow. Our top recommendation when framing artwork with deckled edges (hand-torn).

Float Mounting is a method used to beautifully mount artwork directly onto a backing mount board. The result is the artwork sitting upon a backing mount board with a 3cm distance between the inside of the frame profile and the edge of the paper (Our top recommendation when framing artwork with deckled edges ‘beautifully hand-torn’).

‘Dennis Hopper I’ is a striking Silkscreen from contemporary artist David Studwell. This piece is from a Limited Edition of 10, printed on Magnani Litho paper and signed and numbered by the artist.

    Details

‘Dennis Hopper I’ uses silver metallic paint and adopts David Studwell’s unique and unmissable style. This piece features Dennis Hopper who was arrested in Taos, where he owned the famous Mabel Dodge Luhan House in 1975. David Studwell supplied us the following information surrounding the history of Hopper; ‘The consensus on the web is that Hopper had a minor traffic accident and tried to get away from the police. But there’s a better version in “Hopper: A Journey into the American Dream,” the 2013 biography by Tom Folsom. The writer told the Journal last year that he spent three months in Taos gathering stories. The biography says that, on the night of his arrest, Hopper won some acid in a poker game at La Fonda Hotel on the Taos Plaza. He stepped out onto the Plaza and shot (with a .357 magnum) what he thought was a giant grizzly bear (really a tree). He fled, only to be handcuffed and thrown into the same jail where he had filmed the drunk tank scene with Jack Nicholson in “Easy Rider,” Folsom writes’.
