Shadow Floating is a method used to beautifully mount artwork onto a foam core using Artcare™ Restore™, a fully archival and reversible mount. The result is the artwork appearing to float securely upon a backing mount board - creating a wonderful shadow. Our top recommendation when framing artwork with deckled edges (hand-torn).

Float Mounting is a method used to beautifully mount artwork directly onto a backing mount board. The result is the artwork sitting upon a backing mount board with a 3cm distance between the inside of the frame profile and the edge of the paper (Our top recommendation when framing artwork with deckled edges ‘beautifully hand-torn’).

    Details

Contemporary artist Matt Jukes is known for his abstracted landscapes, which fuse place, recollection, and emotion, for a meditative and moving aesthetic. With a background in graphic design and print making, Jukes’s work is imbued with a sense of form and tactility: layers are built up within each piece, to explore the possibilities of colour and texture and to create a discursive, visual character within the confines of the printed space.

Jukes’ print, ‘Take Me Home’ blends the beauty of the natural world with the tactile techniques of artistic representation, in shades of lime-green and tropical-turquoise. In Jukes’ own words, the print is inspired by “the moment when you turn to head home,” while lyrics from Phil Collins’ song of the same name offer a sonic counterpart: “Seems so long I've been waiting / Still don't know what for / There's no point escaping / I don't worry anymore.” Quietly haunting, ‘Take Me Home (2019)’ provokes contemplation and introspection with its astonishing visual presence.
