Clive Sefton Artist Biography
Clive Sefton is a Brighton based artist and designer. His series of "Word Searches" combine clean and beautiful design with fun and interaction! After completing a National Diploma in Design he qualified with an Honours Degree in Graphic Design and Photography, which was followed by a further course in silkscreen printing at Brighton University. Initially getting recognition through the Brighton Artists Open Houses, his work has featured in Creative Review and has been bought by a number of well-respected people including Brighton resident, Fatboy Slim. His work also appears at W Hotel Leicester Square, Kings College London and a number of other locations. Sefton has always been interested in typography and wanted to create a typographic print with a twist. "I also like interactivity with artwork, and the idea that each time someone looks at a piece, they might see something else. Normally this can be quite abstract, but with my work it's pretty literal...and actually fun!" he explains "Some people prefer to not draw on the glass, leaving the piece solely as a graphic form, but others feel they need to circle the words and get a sense of achievement and satisfaction by doing so. I like the fact it can be shown in so many ways," says Sefton. Sefton has recently completed a 3D piece using magnetic letters, which is being auctioned for charity.
