‘Puft in Bloom’ is a Giclée Print by illustrator and printmaker Graham Carter. From a limited edition of 50, the print is signed and numbered by the artist.
Drawing on ancient Japanese art forms, ‘Puft in Bloom’ brilliantly crosses genres. Picture the scene: Japanese blossom fills the foreground, a huge red sun begins to set on the horizon, and cords of red lanterns line a darkening pagoda. Who should be roaming the idealised landscape but Stay Puft, the famous Marshmallow Man villain from Ghostbusters. Bathed in a red light, Carter’s vision of the enormous, sugary creature is benign and even beautiful, brilliantly merging modern, digital techniques with classical aesthetics from Eastern antiquity.
