"Passion" is a singed limited edition silkscreen on 250gsm ‘Majestic Real Gold’ paper by Calligraphy artist Seb Lester.
This amazing quote is created by printing a single black screen onto shimmering gold paper. Seb Lester is the one of the world’s leading calligraphers: having designed type for NASA, Apple, The New York Times, Nike and the 2010 Winter Olympics, graphics don’t get bigger than this. Lester’s passion for the Latin alphabet - which he claims to be “one of mankind’s most beautiful and profound creations” - is infectious, informing all of his striking, limited edition prints.
‘I would rather die of passion than of boredom’ is taken from a letter Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo in 1884. It is however itself a quote from an 1883 novel by Émile Zola.
