‘Joshua Tree’ is a Giclée print by contemporary photographer David Pexton. Printed onto 300gsm Minuet Paper, the print is from a limited edition of 50 and is signed and numbered by the artist.
British-born, and now Brooklyn-based, contemporary photographer David Pexton is a master of the lens. His ardent passion for the city that never sleeps is infectious: roaming the metropolis, Pexton is able to capture every tiny detail of the urban space, or express the character of a passer-by in even the smallest gestural expression.
With an exceptional eye for colour and composition, Pexton’s work - which incorporates 35mm, Medium Format and Instant film - really packs a punch.
‘Joshua Tree’ depicts the Yucca in black and white, poised at the edge of a swimming pool in a suburban garden. As the camera lens skims the water’s edge, the print seems to ripple, as our gaze is directed towards the majestic tree.
Pexton’s image highlights the sometimes uneasy relationship between the natural and the man-made with photographic clarity and aesthetic beauty.
