INSA

Fine artist INSA is one to watch in the contemporary, urban art world. Graduating from Goldsmiths, and with a background in graffiti art, INSA’s career has gone from strength to strength, with a global fan base and cult status to rival the likes of Banksy and Fairey. INSA explores the pressing issue of commodity fetishisation through his work, questioning the role of the artist within a consumer society. His fine art and print work explore the relationship between sexual desire, objectification and commodity culture, often using mirrored materials to reflect the viewer’s complicated relationship to the art piece right back at them.

INSA’s work consciously breaks down barriers, polarities and societal norms, introducing paradoxical motifs and elements of irony and self deprecating humour into his experimental approach. His work ranges from fine art, to printmaking, to clothing and furniture design, creating images for large scale clients such as Nike, Kangol, Oki-Ni and the Ice hotel in Sweden, as well as producing his own high heel company and custom cars. INSA’s work is now held in the permanent V&A collection, as well as having been exhibited at the Tate Britain and, outside of the UK, in galleries across the world including Tokyo, LA, New York, San Francisco, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Berlin, and Montreal.
