‘Icons’ is a Giclée print by contemporary artist Mason Storm. From a limited edition of 100, the print is signed and numbered by the artist.
Elusive artist Mason Storm creates meticulously detailed prints from a fusion of conventional painting techniques and mediums, cultural iconography, and themes of modernity. His work turns around the traditional portrait, adding in elements form contemporary culture: from music, to TV, to advertising, Storm’s updates are brilliant satirical commentaries on twenty-first century society.
‘Icons’ updates Caravaggio’s 1601 masterpiece ‘Supper at Emmaus’, which depicts the resurrected Christ, as he is revealed to two of his disciples. Storm modernises the sacred scene adding a McDonald's meal to the table, using the ultimate symbol of modern consumerism as a satirical two-fingers to the religious sanctity of the institution of art.
