‘Can I Make It Better With The Lights On?’ is a Giclée Print by contemporary light artist Rebecca Mason. Printed onto Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl Paper, the piece is from a limited edition of 50 and is signed and numbered by the artist.
Contemporary artist Rebecca Mason works with neon light to create a unique and striking aesthetic. Her work explores the darker side of human nature through the medium of light, for a conceptually powerful juxtaposition. In using neon, Mason allows the seediness of the city to seep into the delicacy of her work, which is always centred around typography, offering a slight but profound comment on human existence and emotion. ‘Can I Make It Better With The Lights On’ depicts the words ‘I’m scared’, each letter bent from bright blue strips of neon light.
The eye-catching words are set against a black background, onto which Mason has printed a poetic paragraph listing oh-so human fears, big and small, from ‘monsters’ to ‘what the world has become’ to ‘telling you how I really feel’. The interplay of light and dark is mesmerising and profoundly beautiful and Mason’s message is deeply emotive: a brilliant moment of illumination in an all-too often dark world.
Please note that this is a print only and does not include lights or neon elements
