Amy Douglas is an artist and restorer. Amy produces wood cuts and re-configures broken 19th century Staffordshire ceramic figures, called The Art of Salmagundi. She works with relief printmaking and likes to re appropriate antique images. Amy’s imagery is often inspired by the folk elements of our culture. All prints are hand embellished or gilded. Her new series of work is based on the concept of what we all need at our fingertips: a unicorn, or a little bit of love.
Amy has an MA in printmaking from Camberwell College of Art , having trained in the Decorative Arts at City and Guilds of London Art School. Amy runs her own business in Brighton restoring decorative arts, specialising in gilding.
Artworks are shown in various galleries and exhibitions around the country.
