This museum art print is a Pop Art classic printed on fine art paper. Andy Warhol’s iconic cow was first published for his ‘retirement’ exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery, New York, in April 1966. The photographic image was taken from an unidentified book on animal husbandry and the caption in the book read, “A Good Jersey Head”. Warhol’s beautiful pink cow is removed from the landscape and treated as a decorative motif. Against a bold lilac background, she instantly and unforgettably pops!
