Before selecting your Impressionist art poster here’s more about Impressionist art and artists

Impressionism began in France in the 19th Century. The first exhibition by French impressionist artists in Paris 1874 was greeted with derision, with Monet's ‘Impression, Sunrise’ being particularly singled out. Impressionist artists applied their paint in small touches of pure colour rather than broader strokes, and painted out of doors emphasising the artist's perception of the subject matter as much as the subject itself.Click on the images above to find your favourite amongst out impressionist prints today!
