Provocative Butterfly (Signed Limited Edition of 10) by Jane Sampson

Provocative Butterfly is a highly unusual silkscreen hand printed by the artist herself and a singed limited edition of only 10. In this print a pair of frilly split crotch knickers is transformed into a delicate butterfly like presence. 

It is part of the 'Boudoir Series' of prints where Jane has taken the contents of her lingerie draw exposed them directly onto a printing screen, and using striking colours created these unusual prints. 

The absence of a body in the underwear allows the objects to take on a life of their own and encourages the viewer to look at then in a whole new way.
