Disover more about this print

From 1961 to 1964 Bridget Riley, a leader of the Op Art scene, worked with contrasting black and white, occasionally introducing tonal scales of grey. These monochrome paintings strongly influenced fashion designers such as Ossie Clark and Mary Quant. In ‘Fall’, a single perpendicular curve is repeated to create a field of varying optical frequencies. She said of the work “I try to organise a field of energy which accumulates until it reaches maximum tension.”
