Nikki Black’s Poetry Projection

07 February 2012

Local artist Nikki Black has had one of images projected onto the side of the Turner Contemporary Gallery building in Margate as part of the Workers of Art adn Clever Projections project.

Nikki’s work features a poem by Liam Sissay, the first poet to write for the Olympics this year, and was projected into the side of the gallery and over the entrance from 26th to 29th January this year. Sissay’s poem is inspired by working with Thanet residents as part of the Poetry Isle community engagement project. He has gathered words, memories and feelings about Margate and its surrounding villages from the people who live and work there.
