It seems to be quite popular already and hasn’t been in the gallery for long so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be a bestseller. Drawing on the fairytale and the storybook Amanda has created an imaginary world in her work. In Bird Riders children and their animal companions are repeated in the image, floating carefree, emitting dazzling clouds of sparkling energy. The prints recreate the freedom of childhood, revelling in the power of the imagination to invoke both the fantastic and the sinister. Amanda Marie's fresh approach to stencil and spray paint has established her as a unique and exciting talent. Please call into Brighton gallery to enquire about edition numbers available. Following on from Matchboxes last year, Peter Blake has released Matchboxes II to create the perfect pair. It features matchboxes from his collection of rare antique and novelty matchbox covers from all over the world assembled on a warm red background. Turning this collection into a piece of fine art recalls one the key ideas within Pop Art: that everyday objects can be viewed with a fresh perspective in a new context as the subject of the work, as valuable and beautiful in their own right. Here Blake creates a composition of surprising visual diversity; every time you look at it you notice another detail. If you’re quick you can still get your hands on one for the release price! We now have several of the prints form David Walker’s Bride series and they’re amazing, taking the use of coloured spray paint to another level. He works in a very painterly style that is often likened to oil painting, creating a strong sense of movement and life in the figures he paints. The vibrant use of colour is really refreshing and great if you’re looking for an injection of colour onto your walls. His subjects are predominantly unknown and his work only uses spray paint after a self-imposed rule of “no brushes’ exploring the medium and its potential as a colour vehicle, pushing the boundaries of graffiti art with his multi layered style. The Brides are all available in a small version edition of 10 and a larger version edition of 5. Please call into Brighton gallery to enquire about colours and edition numbers available.
