Collectors Corner on artrepublic.com

Whether you collect for pleasure or investment, artrepublic can help you choose wisely. We love to hear from customers who bought from us years ago and still enjoy their pictures today just as much as we love to watch the face of someone asking what the Banksy they bought for £50 is now worth! (Click here to read about one lucky customer’s windfall at a recent art auction).

This decade has seen the limited edition print reach a whole new audience with graffiti artists no longer restricting their work to the streets. The talented young artists and designers of today are producing some awe-inspiring ‘Urban Art’ images that capture the zeitgeist in the same way Pop Art did for its generation. These artists are now being recognised as highly collectable and important in today’s art market, so much so that Bonhams the auctioneers held its first ever Urban Art auction in February 2008.

If you are looking to start or expand your collection, we can help. We’ll make sure you’re the first to know about latest print releases and we’ll help you make an informed decision about buying your next piece of art.

If there are any artists or particular prints you are interested in please email your enquiry and your phone number to brighton@artrepublic.com

Miss Bugs - The Wonderful Vote

This original on wood is a stunning composition by the London-based Street Artist.  This one-off piece depicts the ultimate crime-fighting goddess Wonder Woman and the Statue of Liberty in a fusion of paint and stencil spray.

Obey - Big Brother City

The beautifully ornate custom framed limited edition is a fantastic example of imagery from L.A based Graffiti Artist Shepard Fairey.  ‘Big Brother City’ has a strong influence for the George Orwell’s seminal novel ‘1984’ and part of the image as been used for a new publication by Penguin Books.

Lidia de Pedro  - Pig’s Bay

The Spanish born Lidia de Pedro has released her seventh silkscreen exclusive to artrepublic (the first five limited editions of 25 have completely sold out – as did all her original pieces at our ‘Saints and Sinners’ exhibition).  ‘Pig’s Bay’ is a silkscreen with hand-finishing on the surreal references that merge with the tropical island of Cuba.
