Damien Hirst- Spot Woodcuts

As Damien Hirst is currently showing over 20 years worth of his spot paintings at the Gagosian galleries worldwide, we are proud to have a selection of his new woodcut spot prints at artrepublic. They are arguably his most iconic and instantly recognisable works that have become an important part of the canon of contemporary art. They come in all manner of variations in scale and colour and number of spots and have been made using several methods. Most recently we have some spot prints that been made by woodcut which gives a lovely texture to each spot. Any serious art collection should not be without one.

We also have a few of the spot etchings available too.

Sir Peter Blake- Marilyn XL

This is possibly one of the most iconic images of Marilyn Monroe there is. The image of her is taken from a photo shoot by Andy Warhol. In particular the photo shoot that created “that” image of Marilyn used in Warhol’s first multiples and repeated in infinite variations. The image is now instantly recognised around the world. Peter Blake subsequently acquired the rights to this image which was one of the photos that Warhol did not use. Finished with diamond dust in her hair this is a truly beautiful silkscreen that is worth every penny for Marilyn and Peter Blake fans alike.

Jake Wood-Evans- Monarchy

As a relatively young artist Monarchy is stunning in its maturity. The rich colour originally created in oil, and the strong composition, make this a impactful print. Jake Wood-Evans takes the classical tradition of oil painting and gives it a modern twist creating dark and ethereal images. We think he could be going places so watch this space!
