The Albright-Knox Art Gallery's collection is rich in post-war American and European art, acquired mostly through the generosity of its patron, the late Seymour H. Knox, Jr. Abstract expressionism, pop art, and art of the 1970s through the end of the century are well represented by exceptional examples by artists such as Gorky, Pollock, Warhol, and Johns.

The Permanent Collection at Albright-Knox Art Gallery

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery was built as a Fine Art Pavilion for the Pan American Exposistion in 1901, however it was not finished until 1905. A rich permanent collection has been built up from donations from includes artifacts from 3,000BC and follows arts history to a large collection of post war American and European art.
