Lloyd Initially makes her intricate designs from card and paper, and then carefully photographs her work. Lloyd also takes pride in creating work from pre-loved materials and stresses the therapeutic effects of working physically with paper. Through sculpting and hand-cutting, Lloyd connects with her materials very dynamically and is able to process emotions. Lloyd worked as an animator and graphic designer for 20 years, working in both the music industry and television. She became the creative director and co-owner of the animation company Mr and Mrs Smith. Nine years after Lisa initially began working with paper, her art became her sole profession. Since then, Lloyd has produced artwork for both private clients and commercial commissions, including the BBC, Waitrose, Conde Nast, Moonpig, and The British Heart Foundation. Her work has appeared at HOMO Faberin Venice and the Rheged centre in Cumbria.
