PUSH Artist Biography
PUSH is a Canadian born graffiti artist who artrepublic have had the pleasure of commissioning to produce her latest prints. Her interest in art started with the introduction to stencilling which then progressed into street art. Following years of travelling, living in Buenos Aires and Barcelona, and going to art school for a year, her style began to develop into bigger, more complex pieces with social undertones. PUSH creates images that challenge social norms and question the strange and unnatural state of human behaviour. She frequently draws upon her fascination with evolutionary biology, and her pieces often consist of repeated units and combine stencilling and wheat pasting. She is influenced by mural street artists such as Blu and stencil artists from Buenos Aires. She believes that in making public art, it should be aesthetically pleasing but more importantly, it should be thought provoking.Born in 1983, PUSH currently lives in Vancouver and along with drawing she paints, screen-prints and makes videos and photography.
