Mau Mau biography in Biographies from the artzine on artrepublic.com

Mau Mau likes to comment on topical issues and his print and graffiti work often features enviro-political imagery.  Common themes include pole-dancing female police officers and Little Red Riding Hoodie, both commentaries on surveillance culture.

Mau Mau has completed work for Greenpeace, Surfers Against Sewage and the Glastonbury Festival.  A surfboard designed by Mau Mau for Surfers Against Sewage formed part of a sale of urban art by auction house Bonham’s. He has performed live spray painting demos at many events including Urban Games and Glastonbury Festival. He has worked for record companies such as Ninja Tunes and Lowlife Records and made animated videos for Herbaliser, Dizzee Rascal and Skitz. His street work can also been seen all over the world including the UK, America, Jamaica, Thailand and Australia.

In the 1990’s Mau Mau developed his own clothing label – Sewerside - producing iconic designs that gained a cult following. He now divides his time between the UK and working with Souled Out Studios in Thailand.
