Design is a key consideration in all of his prints and his series of ‘Word Searches’ combine this with fun and interaction. ‘I want people to interact with my work. Circling the words on the glass means people view the work differently. It adds an element of fun, which might not normally be associated with something visually so clean and crisp. Different people view it in different ways. Some people prefer to not draw on the glass, leaving the letters as a graphic form in their own right where some people feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction by circling the words they’ve found – it almost becomes addictive. They also make an excellent conversation piece.’ Clive Sefton After completing a National Diploma in Design he qualified with an Honours Degree in Graphic Design and Photography which was followed by a year in Central America. He followed up his degree with a course in silkscreen printing at Brighton University and this has sparked many of the ideas he’s now working on, including his popular series of ‘Word Searches’.
