Anna Kyriacou biography in Biographies from the artzine on artrepublic.com

Anna Kyriacou is a Brighton based fine artist and illustrator, who has a naïve style that is seductively simple.

Anna feels that everyone’s experience of childhood is unique and complex, which although her images hold personal resonance, is how she hopes people will experience her imagery. Her work looks at what children do in a way that rejects and simultaneously observes the boundaries that adults often create when dealing with children and their representation.

In 2007 Anna received the runner-up award for the Brighton Fringe Festival, Visual Arts Prize. She has exhibited her work in various parts of the UK including London and Edinburgh. Anna has worked on editorial and advertising commissions and had her work featured in a variety of magazines including The Illustrated Ape and I-D.

Anna Kyriacou graduated from Edinburgh College of Art where she completed a degree in illustration. Her original artworks are sold at our sister gallery ink-d.
