Jackson Pollock art prints & posters, available now at artrepublic.com

Jackson Pollock's best known works such as ‘Summertime’ are created by the 'drip and splash' style or 'Action-painting'. Pollock fixed his canvas to the floor or wall and, holding the brush or stick a foot or so away, threw lines of paint towards it. The intensity and scale of Pollock's finest abstract works led him to be regarded as one of the most important American artists of his day, and his paintings remain incredibly popular to this day. Before selecting your Jackson Pollock posters or art print here’s more about the artist

Pollock was born in 1912 on a sheep ranch in Cody, Wyoming. In the Thirties Jackson Pollock’s art career started with painting in the Regionalist style, influenced by Mexican muralist painters and various aspects of Surrealism. Jackson Pollock’s best known and most dramatic abstract works only counted for four years of his work. By 1954 his alcoholism and depression ended his career and he died in a car crash two years later. Click on the images above to find your favourite Jackson Pollock art print today!
