Henri Matisse was born in 1869 in France. As a young man he went to Paris to study Law but soon took up art instead. In 1949-51 he designed what is often considered to be his masterpiece, the interior at the Chapel of the Rosary in Venice.  From the 1920s onwards he became an internationally renowned artist and Henri Matisse art work has been displayed in many of the world’s largest modern art museums to this day.  Click on the images above to find your favourite Henri Matisse picture today!
