Recent Auctions of Banksy’s in articles from the artzine on artrepublic.com

Several of Banksy’s works came under the hammer at Southeby’s on the 1st April. Morons, a print that pokes fun at the art establishment, fetched £5,250 - £1,000 more than its estimate. 

The print takes a dig at auction houses like Sotheby's and appeared on the artist's website in response to one of his pieces ‘Bombing Middle England’ selling for £102,000 at auction in February 2007.

Napalm, based on the Pulitzer prize-winning image of a Vietnamese girl fleeing her village following a napalm attack, fetched £11,000. The print CND Soldiers also went under the hammer for £3,750.

Balloon Girl an original spay painting on canvas fetched £48,500 on 2nd of April in Christie's Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, £18,500 over the estimate of £20,000 - 30,000.

More urban art will be under the hammer at Bonhams Vision 21 auction on 16th April which includes 10 lots of Banksy’s work as well as pieces by  Faile and Antony Micallef.
